Myers-Briggs People-Boxes

I’m well aware of the flaws and problems with any kind of “personality profile,” especially a 10-question one that takes 5 minutes. However, I was quite interested to note that the suggested (“You would make an excellent…”) occupations in the results (below) fall pretty close to where I’m aiming — programmer in the first box, entrepreneur in the second (I try), and I’m trying to make myself write more, as found in the third box. Whouldathunk?

Read the rest for the results.

Your #1 Match: INTP

The Thinker

You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can.
Smart and complex, you always love a new intellectual challenge.
Your biggest pet peeve is people who slow you down with trivial chit chat.
A quiet maverick, you tend to ignore rules and authority whenever you feel like it.

You would make an excellent mathematician, programmer, or professor.

Your #2 Match: ENTP

The Visionary

You are charming, outgoing, friendly. You make a good first impression.
You possess good negotiating skills and can convince anyone of anything.
Happy to be the center of attention, you love to tell stories and show off.
You’re very clever, but not disciplined enough to do well in structured environments.

You would make a great entrepreneur, marketing executive, or actor.

Your #3 Match: INFP

The Idealist

You are creative with a great imagination, living in your own inner world.
Open minded and accepting, you strive for harmony in your important relationships.
It takes a long time for people to get to know you. You are hesitant to let people get close.
But once you care for someone, you do everything you can to help them grow and develop.

You would make an excellent writer, psychologist, or artist.

There’s always the possibility that every profile could apply to you? And throw in some random chance, and you can get some pretty convinving results. Alternatively, there may be some correlation between the answers and the results, that just happen because the test has been around for ages, and has been tested on heaps of people. So, if they’ve done it on a whole lot of entreprenuers, and programmers, they may have given similar answers to you. That’s concievable, but doesn’t have to mean that the theory is correct. It is Interesting though.

It’s probably worth realising, that you should be able to get a lot more than warm fuzzies and a wow that’s true, “cool” vibe out of these….
The comments this particular test gives seem to be skewed to the positive aspects of each personality type…

more beneficial however is when such a test picks up things your personality type struggles with and needs to work on .. eg…

Heh heh heh nice Jim :) That’s true eh… usually it’s like “yay” and then wince with those kind of things. These ones are pretty vague, eh, and the typos take the viability down just a notch :) Not bad though, considering. Perhaps a little Barnum in there though :D
