Bands come, bands go…
I’m a little sad. I just heard that Eight is calling it quits:
After an extended break, and time both to reflect and to explore new musical directions and solo projects, eight have decided to call it a day as a band.
… Unfortunately there’s no juicy Rock n Roll mis-adventure, ‘creative differences’ or ‘Yoko-Ono’ story to tell. We’ve had a great time as a band, we’re still very much inspired to make music, and are looking forward to supporting each other as we explore some new directions.
They’re about to do a final tour, on which “shows will be opened with acoustic solo performances from Bruce Conlon, Alastair Rogers, and Chris Cope.”
Eight are playing the Jet Set in Christchurch on the 17th of June. Tickets are $20.

aww poor matty.. why are you a little sad? Did you quite like these guys? I only know one or two of their songs, so im not too fussed.

Dang. I never bought any of their albums, but it’s sad to see them go.
