I would question Linkin Park as well. theyve always seemed very much to do their own thing, and are one of the very few bands of their sort I actually like. they hardly ever swear in their songs, and actually seem to use more chords than other current songs.

I must disagree! eMotive is top music. They're reuniting all the great peace songs of old. And Thirteenth Step is also quality. Those two albums have really grown on me.

ps Can someone define alternative-suck?

I guess it must be hard for bands to find the balance between doing the alternative-suck thing, and doing the sell out thing.

I don't think APC have sold out, they've just failed to deliver quality music. Sure, their cover art is fleshy, but their sound is still pretty edgy (on mainstream pop-rock radio, that is). I found 'Thirteenth Step' to be a disappointment. Likewise with their covers album 'eMotive'. But at least 'eMotive' was politically conscious. Question: Is it possible to call any band dealing with political content a sellout, even if the music is generic, radio-friendly, derivative crap?

Well, Kid A was actually cool, and was still originals. A Perfect Circle are just doing crap covers. Also, they've totally gone for the sex-sells thing with their cover art recently.

Did A Perfect Circle really "sell out", or just start doing the alternative-suck thing a-la Kid A? Curious minds need to know!
