Language is a funny thing. Take the words “crone” and “cone,” for example. It’s only the absence of an “r” that prevents us from eating ice cream off withered old women.
Sickness
In
Ack. I hate being sick. In fact, I think this particular illness has been crafted solely to annoy me as much as possible. Take the following into consideration:
* I normally can’t sleep on my back due to a stomach/valve issue which causes acid reflux, but sleeping on my front or side at the moment causes coughing fits of the like never experienced by man. Or at least, pretty bad ones.
* During the day, I’m fine. Unfortunately, my body chooses the night-time — when sleeping would be a brilliant way of helping my body repair itself — to manifest sickness in its purest form.
* Also, this illness reached its climax on what was one of my busier weekends of recent history. Fortunately I didn’t have to make the speech I was going to have to make, which would have been difficult given my almost complete lack of voice.
Okay, enough moaning. On the bright side, I’m feeling better today than I have all weekend, so here’s hoping I’m getting better.
