There goes my savings.
Apple has just previewed Mac OS X Tiger. And unfortunately, I once again find myself sucked into “oooh, I need it.”
I’m interested to see that they are carrying on their [not-so-]fine tradition of making the most popular third-party apps part of the OS—this time around it’s RSS Reading in Safari (although I don’t think it’s going to be as convenient as NetNewsWire) and a desktop widgets engine called Dashboard (think Konfabulator). I’m not quite sure where I stand on this. It sucks that they are making the massive efforts of a lot of third-party developers totally redundant, but hey, now I don’t have to pay for even more software, and it’s business after all.
Also, looks have changed slightly—less pinstripes (again), but also less metal, and more shiny, by the looks of it. Mm mmm. I’ll be upgrading at the end of the year…

need seems to be such a subjective thing, and as such explains a lot about the subject. in this case it kinda shows why your so relaxed (in. every. other. area. of. life.)

The Reality Distortion Field has enveloped me. It makes me glad I waited a bit before grabbing an iBook now (not just for the added expense of a new OS, but for a Core/DirectX9/Pixel Shader 2.0/etc. capable graphics card, which Apple will hopefully bundle with new iBooks, as it looks like it’ll be useful with this new graphics acceleration thing).
