Two very different slices of life

September 2006

Two very different slices of life: the first is a depressing but moving short film called Submission (10 min, Google Video.) It was made by Theo van Gogh, who was murdered in 2004, likely as a consequence of having made the film. I strongly urge you to watch it.

This news, on the other hand, is heartening. India's caste system is hugely destructive, so any attempt to try to lessen its effect is a good thing.

Yeah, well worth watching. Sort of disturbing, but it displays a lot of the underworld of islam. Worth seeing anyway.
